We are a Community Foundation – an independent, community-owned and governed philanthropic organisation. That means we work in a distinct geographic area – Murrindindi Shire – and over time, build up a collection of funds from donors to support the community. This structure allows us to work with a range of donors to raise funds that can be invested locally, with proceeds granted out or used in other ways to create a successful, resilient and thriving region.
The Marysville and Triangle Community Foundation was formed to continue the recovery process after one of Australia’s worst natural disasters, the 2009 bushfires. The Foundation benefits not just for Marysville and surrounding communities, but for the wider Murrindindi Shire area by delivering services, making grants and undertaking community leadership and partnership activities to address a wide variety of needs.
We also act as a local convenor and bring community groups together to focus on what it takes to make our region even better – for example, working on community leadership and creating partnerships. While our office is in Marysville, our grant programs provide funding for the entire Murrindindi Shire – from Eildon to Flowerdale, Alexandra to Kinglake.
The Marysville and Triangle Community Foundation Limited is a public company limited by guarantee and is not-for-profit. The company acts as the trustee of the Marysville and Triangle Community Foundation, which is a registered charity.
